Prerequisites
- A Facebook Page with admin access
- For Instagram: an Instagram Professional or Business account linked to that Facebook Page
Setup
Connect with Facebook
Navigate to Settings > Integrations > Instagram or Messenger and click Connect with Facebook. Both channels use the same Meta OAuth flow — connecting one will prompt you to configure both.
Authorize and select your page
Select the Facebook Page you want to connect and grant the requested permissions.
Channels
Once connected, Telemetron subscribes to:- Instagram DMs — direct messages create support cases
- Instagram post/ad comments — captured and can be replied to from the dashboard
- Instagram story mentions — create cases with replies sent via DM
- Facebook Messenger — conversations create support cases
- Facebook page post comments — captured and can be replied to from the dashboard
Messaging Limitations
Meta enforces restrictions on how and when you can respond:- 24-hour messaging window — you can only reply to a customer within 24 hours of their last message. After that, the window closes and you cannot send a message until they reach out again.
- Comment private replies have a 7-day window — you can reply privately (via DM) to a post comment within 7 days. You can only send one private reply per comment.
- Text and attachments can’t be sent together — if you need to send both, the attachment goes as a separate message.
- Tokens can expire — if the connection drops, reconnect by clicking Connect with Facebook again.
